The family case
The Rizta is what happens when Ather builds for the pillion instead of the rider: a long, flat seat that actually fits two adults, the segment's most comfortable suspension tuning, a big flat floorboard, and storage that swallows school bags and groceries. The 33-litre under-seat boot takes two helmets. Efficiency tuning means the 3.7 kWh pack delivers its best real-world numbers precisely where families live — gentle throttle, two-up riding — so the 85–110 km real range holds up better with a pillion than most rivals'. Running costs match the segment: about ₹24 per 100 km on home charging (verify in the calculator), and Ather Grid access for the occasional fast top-up.
Where it falls short — honestly
The Rizta gives away the 450X's edge deliberately: 80 km/h top speed, softer steering, and no Sport-mode drama. Budget-wise it is Ather-priced — ₹1.1–1.45 lakh — against value rivals offering bigger batteries for less. And Ather's metro-weighted service network applies here too; a family's only vehicle needs a workshop that actually answers the phone. The value-first alternative is the Ola S1; the network-first alternative is the iQube.
Who should buy it
Buy the Rizta if: it is the household's main vehicle, comfort and space outrank speed, and Ather service exists in your city. Look elsewhere if: you want maximum battery per rupee, or you ride solo and fast — the 450X is that scooter.
